SEMO Bulls 17U (8-7)
Went 2-1 at Real Deal in the Rock to move to 8-7 on the summer. Good showing in the tournament went 2-0 in Pool play advanced to tournament bracket and feel to Deron Williams Elite 17u. Start of the tournament with a Showcase game vs. Houston Celtics won by double digits in a great defensive effort, and 4 3-pointers by Dominique Dyes (Sikeston). Defending 6’9 and taller post players have become a weekly task for Asten Newsome (NMCC) he’s accepting it, with a double-double performance vs. Houston Celtics 6’10 center. Strong guard play from DelFinkco Bogan (Charleston), Akeem Nelson (Kennett), Chris Stocks (Poplar Bluff), and Willie Jimerson (NMCC) lead us to another victory in the pool play vs. the Arkansas Travelers.
SEMO Bulls 15U (14-3)
Went 2-1 at Real Deal in the Rock to move to 14-3 on season. Kennett High School Freshman Jad Kenney opened up the tournament with a stand out game going 9/9 from the field and grabbing 13 rebounds. Standout game for Emanuel White (Clarkton) Marshon Morrissey (Ellington) and Willie Lucas (Poplar Bluff) vs. Nashville Celtics. The SEMO Bulls 15U won both pool games vs. Nashville Celtics Gold and Elevate New Orleans before losing in bracket play to Deon Williams Elite 15u.
SEMO Bulls 13U (19-6)
Coming off of a 7 game winning streak, the SEMO Bulls 13u went into this tournament ready to go, and went 2-2 at the Real Deal in the Rock to move to 20-6. Opening up pool play with a win against All Arkansas Red the Bulls would fall short losing by 6 points to the number 2 team in the nation Deron Williams Elite 13u. The lost only showed to fuel the young Bulls for chances at a rematch as they defeated the Middle Tennessee Impact in the first round of bracket play. Sharp shooting guard Tyler Cline (Poplar Bluff) was able to come in and contribute with clutch 3 point shooting in the game vs. Middle Tennessee Impact that weaken their zone defense. Advancing to the final four, the only obstacle in the way was the tournament host team Arkansas Hawks. With a sluggish first have the 13U bulls dog themselves a whole, losing to the Hawks in the semifinals. Marcedus Leech (Caruthersville), Kevin Jones (Sikeston), and Dominique Hardimon (South Pemiscot) all had a good showing.
